At Bell & Clements investing in our people is of paramount importance.

We invite you to hear from a selection of our team members:

Amanda Ahmet

Head of Risk and Compliance

I first joined Bell & Clements’ Risk Management & Compliance Support team in 2011 as a Compliance & Risk Administration Assistant.  I had just completed my Law degree, and at the time was studying the Legal Practice Course part-time.  I later trained and qualified as a Solicitor, specialising in Professional Indemnity defence litigation.  I decided to move out of private practice and back into Compliance as I wanted a fresh challenge, and knew that my legal training would serve me well.  I re-joined Bell & Clements in 2019 to implement the Senior Managers & Certification Regime.  Since then, I have held various positions within the team and was promoted most recently to the Head of Risk & Compliance in 2023, reporting into the Chief Risk, Compliance & Legal Officer.  My role is focussed on ensuring that Bell & Clements continues to meet its legal and regulatory obligations, and any new requirements are scoped and implemented effectively. My diversity of experience has without a doubt enabled me to bring a different perspective to my role, and I feel fortunate to be able to share this with my team to deliver exceptional results.

What I enjoy most about working for Bell & Clements is its culture.  Whilst being part of an internationally renowned Group, it still has a ‘family feel’ to it.  I have always felt supported and encouraged to take opportunities that have enabled me to develop my career.  This is evident by the fact that I have held almost every position within the team at some point over the years!  More recently, in 2022 I was accepted onto Hydrogen - Munich Re’s career acceleration programme.  Since joining I have made countless new connections across the Group, attended Munich Re’s first Global Hydrogen Conference in Munich, and have a dedicated career enabler who I meet with regularly.

Outside of work I enjoy keeping fit, painting and seeing the latest release at the cinema!

Raymond Daniel

IBA Manager

I joined Bell & Clements as an IBA Credit Controller in the Accounts Department after working in similar roles for over five years for a couple of insurance brokers. Having gained a promotion to Supervisor at Bell & Clements, this was followed in relatively quick succession to my current role as  IBA Manager. This position entails overseeing the day-to-day running of the IBA function and my talented Credit Control and Cashiering team, ensuring prompt receipt of insurance funds, timely payment to underwriters and equally important, adhering to the FCA requirements on CASS Client Money Rules.

I was attracted to working for Bell & Clements due to the size of the Company, the wide ranging job role and the opportunities available. Bell & Clements has managed to maintain a family feel to its culture which helps each employee to feel both supported and valued within their teams.

Due to the size of Bell & Clements, this has meant that I have not been limited to a number of defined responsibilities within my role, but that I have been able to work on additional projects outside of my remit and be continually challenged. This has allowed me to take on stretch opportunities and develop my learning, which has progressed my career within the Finance department.

Additionally, through their on-going support during the pandemic, Bell & Clements have helped their employees from a physical and mental wellbeing perspective and ensured that all employees are supported.

Outside of work, I like to go to the gym and follow NFL football.

Data Analyst

Having moved from South Africa to the UK, I joined the Data Analytics team at Bell & Clements. The IT team covers many roles and responsibilities, which has allowed me to gain exposure across a huge range of projects.

I started my career in IT through what was previously the “traditional” career path for IT professionals. I gained experience in junior programming, systems and business analysis, before progressing through to team management, project management and various architect roles. My current role encompasses Data Analytics with Data Architecture. However due to the size of Bell & Clements, I still manage to work across the technical side (e.g. programming).

I was attracted to working for the Data Analytics team at Bell & Clements due to the varied scope of work and the opportunity to work on newer technologies for the future. I feel really fortunate to have found a role at Bell & Clements, not only because of the caring attitude towards its employees but also the great people I work with. The team I work in is made up of bright and energetic people who can always be relied upon for help and support.

In the IT department, we are currently going through some very exciting changes which will allow me to expand my knowledge and learn new skills as the company seeks to extend its service internally and externally to clients.

Outside of work, I enjoy gardening, hiking, walking, reading and exploring the UK.

Head of Broking

I joined Bell & Clements following the completion of my degree in International Business.  I began working as a broker back-up and assisted the team with general administration duties.  After a few years of doing this, I was involved in the setup of our High Value Home facility which required submissions to be presented to the Lloyd’s markets for approval.  I successfully grew this facility and over time I was given authority to quote and bind business on behalf of underwriters.

In 2012 I was promoted to senior broker where my role evolved and I began assisting with the placement of our Binding Authorities.  I continued to oversee the High Value Home business, however my primary role was to negotiate and broke new and renewal Binding Authorities with underwriters and clients.  I was appointed Head of Broking in 2015 and am now responsible for the day to day management of the Lloyd’s contracts.

Throughout my time at Bell & Clements, I have been very lucky to have continued support and encouragement from my direct manager as well as others within the Company.  This has enabled me to achieve my ACII qualification, have a career which requires business travel and balance my family life.  I have two young children who pretty much take up most of my time but when I can, I like to run, cook, go to the theatre and most importantly travel.
